BASKET TOSS

Hangtime (Basket toss)

The bases grab their own wrist first and then the other base wrist with the other hand. The bases will have to get into squat position and lock their arms. The flyer puts the right foot on the bases hands. The back spot will put his/her hands under the bases hands to help them throwing the flyer in the air.

Dip (Basket toss)

The bases and the back spot dip with their leg in a squat position for a first bounce, during the first bounce the flyer put him/her other foot on the hands of the bases, then come the secound bounce, the bases will dip while they stick their feet together and throw the flyer in the air. The back spot dip with his hands under the bases ones to give them extra support. The flyer keeps his/her legs a little bit bent and dip with his/her arms at the same time and push him/herself in the air.

Basket toss to cradle postion

The cradle is the position that the flyer takes while falling in the arms of the bases after doing the basket toss, the back spot catch him/her unders the arms or the back. The flyer can also catch the bases or just keep his/her arms next to her body. Note that bases have to catch high and be sure that they don't have any legs moved forward when they will catch the flyer to make sure that his/her back doesn't land on a knee, so make sure your legs aren't under the flyer's back. When the flyer has reached his/her maximum high, it is important that he/she pike his/her legs to fall in a cradle postion into the bases arms.

Different styles of basket toss (Inlcuding that the flyer always fall into a cradle position)

  • Straight : The flyer lift her arms in the air while staying straight then put them back next to him/her on both side.

  • Twist : Same as the straight except that the flyer will drop the left then the right arms making a circle with them by putting them on the left side to make a 360.

  • Toe Touch : The flyer first go straight and then when he/she reaches the maximum high, the flyer pulls his/her legs to get into a toe touch position while being in the air then the flyer drop his/her arms and legs making a kind of star and get into the cradle position.

  • Pike : Same thing as the toe touch, except that the flyer will get into a pike position instead of a toe touch one.

  • Ball X : The flyer first go straight and then when he/she reaches the maximum high, the flyer pulls his leg to get into a tuck position and then open into a star position.

  • Kick Twist/Full : The flyer kick his/her right leg in the air trying to make a split while the right arm is in the air in front of the right leg and the left arm is next to the flyer's body, then the right leg makes a circle to join the other leg while the right arm does the same and goes on the left side of the flyer's body with the left arm to make a 360.

  • Kick Double Twist/Full : Same as the kick twist but the flyer does a 720.

  • Arabian : The flyer goes straight in the air, makes a 180 then grab his/her legs to do a front tuck quick after he/she did the half turn.

  • Back Tuck : The flyer goes straight in the air then pulls his/her legs, grabs them and do a back tuck.

  • Full : The flyer does a 360 while doing a layout. The flyer first start by doing a layout and then once he/she will almost be upside down,  he/she will drop his/her left arm making a circle and finish with the hand on the left side of the chest, then he/she does the same thing with the right arm to have both arms crossed on the left side of the chest. (You may drop the right arm first depending on which way you spin).

  • Double Full : Same thing as the full but the flyer does a 720 instead of a 360.
